District Deputy Message
Our purpose as Elks is to make a difference in our communities and show them that following the motto of are GER Michael F. Zellen 'Elks-Leading the Way". To do this, we must stand alongside each other and renew our commitments to our charities. As Elks, each of us is in a unique position to help. We can lead by example. We do that by visiting our nearby VA facilities. That's because of a very strong District Veterans committee..By being active volunteers in your Lodges, whether it's for a "Hoop Shoot" program or for other community service projects, we create enthusiasm and excitement among our fellow members. Our actions will make others want to help as well. As a grassroots organization, it's important for us to remember that each of our members really does have the potential to make a difference.
An important reminder, when you send a flyer to our District Editor for the monthly newsletter please let him know what Lodge is having that
event. Also the first DD Clinic will be held at New York #1 on Monday August 29, 2016. I encourage all Elks in good standing to attend. You don't have to be a PER or officer to attend. Please attend and learn more of what the Elks are about.
